I was so glad the pro football championship games were on TV yesterday. It was just too depressing listening and watching all the news surrounding Barack's inauguration. I'm happy to write that I didn't watch or listen to any of the lying hoopla delivered by Barack and his gaffer in chief Biden.
Today, I'll be writing blogs, reading my latest David Baldacci's "The Forgotten", and of course making my re-loads for my .38 special and my .357. I'll bet everyone at one time or another has said, "wonder how it would be to turn off the TV for an entire day". So today my wife and I have decided to keep the TV in the silent mode all day. It's so difficult to watch Barack make the same broken promises that he made four years ago.
Well, maybe if there's a college basketball game on tonight I might turn on the TV, or maybe watch a courtroom mystery that I DVR'd last week.
Four years ago unemployment was 7.8%, and today it's the same. Food stamp enrollment has jumped from 33 million to 47 million. Our national debt in January '09 was $10.2.Trillion. This morning as Barack, Michelle, and the girls parade down D.C. streets the national debt is $16.4.Trillion. When Barack took office a gallon of gas was $1.84; today a gallon of gas is $3.53.
In January 2009 public college tuition was $6,850. per year; today as Barack smiles while strollling down the parade route public college tuition is $8,650. which is a 26% increase. Isn't it ironic that Barack keeps preaching "we must find ways to encourage our children to attend college". Problem is Barack, fewer young people can afford college today, let alone the college loan debts they'll face in the future.
Today we have more Americans on government entitlement programs than we've had since the great depression. Is this the leadership our country needs and wants? This is another reminder of my father. He grew up on a farm in Italy, never went to the first grade, and came to this country when he was just 16. Being the oldest of 8 children he, along with Grampa Pete went to work to support the family so Dad's siblings could go to school.
Dad ended up working for forty-eight years in the steel mills, and his highest earnings topped out at $27,000. a year, and Mom never worked outside the home. Dad could stretch a dollar from here to anywhere. If Barack had half the leadership skills my uneducated father had our national debt would be paid, and our country would be living within a national budget.
Dad left behind a legacy of hard work, and he would always proudly brag in broken English,"I never had to go on unemployment.....hard work won't kill you, but worrying about it will".
Dad passed on at the age of 88, and his reading skills consisted only what my younger sister taught him. Yet he was a giant to our family. A rock that could always be counted on. It seems that family leadership is slipping away from our society today, and we are in badly need of it.
I know Dad is spinning in his grave today with the ever increasing welfare and food stamp entitlements that Barack has instilled in our society. It's disgusting that today this man has the arrogant audacity to celebrate what he's done to our country these past four years, while he lies today, and will continue to do the same destruction in the next four years.
So what say folks, let's make this "TURN AROUND DAY". Let's make this the day we all vow to do our part to work hard to do all we can looking forward to 2014. We must prepare ourselves for the mid-term elections because barring an impeachment over the Benghazi massacre, and Barack's attack on our Constitution we are burdened with this person for another four years beginning today. What are you going to do about it?

Celebrate your 2nd. Amendment today
I couldn't make it to Columbus to join in for Gun Celebration day, so I celebrated Gun Day in my own way. I practiced my Second Amendment rights by taking my .38 special and my .357 to the gun range and shot 250 rounds at targets. It was a great way to celebrate Gun Appreciation Day, and honor the privileges my founding fathers gave me.
At the gun range I met some other gun target shooters, enjoying some cordial conversation and camaraderie. Of the eight target shooters there, six were NRA members, all had their conceal carry weapons license. Many jokes about Barack's gun laws were exchanged. One gun owner retold a joke he heard, "if guns kill people then spoons have made Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnel fat". Another shooter remarked about a cartoon picture of Joe Biden saying, "there must be gun registration for all guns, well except for the assault rifles Holder sends to Mexico".
On the serious side it should be noted that yesterday's Gallup poll reported that the NRA has a higher approval rating than Barack. This from a polling organization that is known to lean to the left. Also reported is that in one month membership for the NRA has increased 250,000. Can this many Americans be all wrong? Gun and ammunition sales are skyrocketing. Also, noteworthy is that since Barack started his dictatorial war to ban guns his approval ratings have spiraled downward significantly.
Remember way back, when Barack declared he was "going to fundamentally transform" our great country? It seems gun control, or I should write "selected" gun control appears to be his mantra now. It's clear that Eric Holder doesn't have to abide by any gun control rules, as evidenced by his "Fast & Furious" program of shipping assault weapons to the Mexican cartel, and refusing to talk about it.
Can anyone guess the author and date of this quote: "this year will go down in history. For the first time our nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the rest of the world will soon follow our lead into the future". You still can't guess who said this? I'll give you a clue: it was a small man with a mustache, from Germany, in 1935.
The American people are not going to stand for anyone, including the man that sits in our White House, to take away any rights from us that were granted by our founding fathers. Just who does this man think he is? I suggest he stop reading his press releases from his fawning media.
How about the hypocrisy of this White House, of course along with the help of the fawning media? Barack's team heavily chastised the NRA for running an ad that showed Barack willing to have armed guards protect his own children at their school, but strongly denies armed guards at anyone else's childrens' schools throughout the country. Nah, that's not double standards is it?
And then what does Barack do? He parades four young children on stage during his announcement of signing 23 executive orders surrounding gun control. He has to be the biggest hyprocrital White House resident this country has ever known. There were over 40,000 violent deaths attributed to gun violence during his first term, but Barack saw no advantage to exploit them. He saw no reason to address the overwhelming gun violence in his own home town, that is led by his good buddy Rahm Emanuel.
But Barack certainly did as his buddy Rahm once quoted, "never let a good crisis go to waste".,
and that's exactly what Barack did. He virtually stood on the graves of the Sandy Hook school massacre and used it for an agenda to attack the Second Amendment rights of Americans to ban guns.
Of course gun control, gun violence, the NRA, Second Amendment rights are all that's being broadcasted on radio and TV today. One has to wonder if Barack and his team, along with his fawning media purposely pushed this news agenda so we'll all sort of forget about our growing national debt of over $16.Trillion, or how Obamacare is causing rising health care premiums, or how hospitals are stopping certain medical procedures because of Obamacare,or how Barack and Reid haven't submitted a budget in nearly 1,400 days, or how businesses are laying off and unwilling to invest in job creation, or how our unemployment is at 8% and projected to grow to 9% by summer.
Nah, Barack is doing just what his buddy Rahm has suggested; let's focus on trying to ban guns, and maybe Americans will forget how economically bad our country is doing right now.
This man, who wants to attack our Constitution and our Amendment rights as laid down by God and our founding fathers should be impeached. Of course with our Democrat controlled Senate that will probably never happen, so we must endure the next four years of this "lame duck" White House resident. Thanks for the ammo Barack
Recently someone remarked, "Pete writes a blog a day...is he going to burn himself out"? My own daughter, both of us proud "right of Rush" conservatives, even said to me after the election, "Dad, how about your blogs now that Obama is reelected"? I just said, "don't worry dear, Obama is going to give me more than enough ammunition for my blogs over the next four years".
And how true it's becoming. There are so many topics to focus on I sometimes don't know what topic to choose for my daily blog. Not to worry for those of you who read and agree with the content and context of my blogs. Also, not to worry for those of you who heavily criticize my blogs. I have plenty of truthful facts for you to attack, but please don't demean yourself by personally attacking me. You're better than that, right?
There are so many topics to choose from, that it's hard to select the "topic of the day". Let's see; there's Obamacare, raising the debt ceiling, 8% unemployment, over 20 million Americans out of work, 1,400 budgetless days, all white men cabinet appointments, '06 Senator Obama vs. 2013 Barack's voting, increase in crime violence, double standards on pro-life, outrageous spending, increase in welfare/food stamp distributions, lengthening unemployment insurance, Hurricane Sandy and FEMA response, Sandy Hook school massacre, Second Amendment rights, etc., etc., etc. Oh yeah, don't forget vacations and golf.
I could write a blog on just the topics I'm going to write blogs about. Hey, I just did. I'll just pick one of the above topics for tomorrow's blog. Stay tuned, and thanks again Barack.

Give me your gun
I'm still having a lot of trouble with Barack's "gun violence" speech yesterday. If all 23 of Barack's executive orders had been passed several months ago would any of these executive orders have stopped the Aurora, Colorado massacre? Would they have stopped the Sandy Hook school massacre? I think not.
Barack is trying very hard to follow suit of monarchs and dictators that have preceded him in history. All throughout history it has been proven that every country's head of government, kings, monarchs, dictators, even emperors that have taken away the rights of the sovereign population to protect themselves, goes on to completely, and at times, tyrannically, rule that population that have no means to fight back.
If, in the 30's, the Jewish population had the right to arm themselves just maybe there wouldn't have been a Holocaust. Maybe there would not have been any slavery if African-Americans were allowed to arm and protect themselves in the 1800's. Here's a fact straight from the annals of history that even my critics will not be able to dispute: Imperialist Emperor Hirohito strongly announced in December, 1941, "we must attack the American bases in Hawaii...we cannot attack the American mainland because behind every blade of grass is an armed American". This is a fact proven through WWII history books.
What Barack did yesterday was nothing more than a political photo shoot, using children as wallpaper. To many, Barack stood on the graves of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre to push his agenda of banning all guns. He just wanted to make a statement to ingratiate himself with his left wing liberal progressive base. We all know he cannot repeal the Second Amendment. Even the great Messiah Barack cannot destroy any part of our Constitution.
I noticed that Barack never once mentioned the escalating crime in his own hometown of Chicago. More people have been killed by handguns in Chicago in 2012 than were lost in the Afghanistan war. Barack kept repeating, " if we can save just one person we must try this". Yet this hypocrite in chief will not even allow any questions involving the murder of our own American border agent with an assault weapon that his own Eric Holder delivered to the Mexican cartel. Why is that Barack?
I have been heavily criticized for writing in my blog yesterday in questioning the eleven armed body guards at the school of Barack's daughters. I strongly believe that Barack's daughters should be protected at all times, as I pray that no danger ever befalls Barack and his wife.
But the criticism just makes my point for me. The handguns, rifles, and assault weapons will not harm Barack and his family. If such a tragedy befalls the first family, and I pray it doesn't, it will come from a crazed maniacal murderer, USING a gun. And I also want my nine grandchildren protected. They are just as important to me as Barack's children are to him.
I read in a report yesterday that there is a $250,000 fine with two years of imprisonment if you steal or break the egg of a bald eagle, but the government will pay the medical care of a woman's abortion. Why don't we ban the medical instrument that abortion clinics insert into the womb of a woman that sucks and kills the unborn fetus of a woman? Believe me, more children are slain every year by abortions than by bullets. In both scenarios someone put a handgun in their hand and pulled the trigger, or inserted an instrument into the womb of a woman and destroy a fetus. And the difference is?
Jessee Jackson now wants to hold all gun manufacturers liable for gun crimes. Am I the only one that finds that ridiculously stupid? Way to go Jessee...shift that blame from the high percentage of young African-American youths committing gun crimes. By the way Jessee, you should talk to your Chicago mayor buddy Rahm Emanuel. In all states that allow citizens to legally arm themselves crime has decreased by 49%. Also, crime has increased in all urban areas where it is illegal to arm oneself.
It must be stressed, strongly stressed that we need to focus on the mental state of the crazed maniac or undisciplined youth that would walk into a school or theater and open fire on defenseless children and adults. The mother of the Sandy Hook school killer purchased and registered her guns legally. Yet her son took her guns, murdered her, then took off for the school. I often wonder what would've happened if there was an armed guard at the entrance of the school.
Decent Americans that obey all gun laws and practice gun safety protocol do not purchase guns for the purpose of killing someone. They purchase guns for three reasons; collecting guns, target shooting, and protecting themselves and their families. Every time I leave my home my .357 is shoulder-holstered to my body. I would never use my handgun in any illegal manner, but I feel safe and comfortable knowing if the situation should occur I have the legal right and means to protect myself.
Barack not only "forgot" to mention that 40,000 gun homocides have occurred since he was elected into office in 2008, he also failed to mention that in the five leading Hollywood movies no less than 185 people were killed. Of course he wouldn't mention those statistics. He needs the backing and donations of the Sean Penn's, Quentin Terratino's, Martin Scorcese's, George Clooney's, and my favorite Jamie Fox. In the movie "Django Unchained", Fox stated what he liked best about acting in the movie was, "I get to kill white people". Of course the media ignored him stating that, but can you imagine if a Republican actor had said the best part about being in "Roots" was the part about torturing and killing African-Americans? Of course that would be despicable, and the media would not have let that go. But why the double standards?
This great country has a bigger problem than crimes committed with guns. The overriding problem in this country is the increasing violent crimes committed by crazed maniacs and undisciplined youths. We must not let Barack push his agenda by starting to ban guns or repeal our Second Amendment.
Many of our founding fathers, beginning with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, proclaimed our Second Amendment was for citizens to arm and protect themselves, even against a tyrannical government.

Hypocrite-in-Chief
I'm listening to every word Barack is saying as he is now starting his gun control TelePrompting while he hides behind children. Barack wants to take guns from the hands of Americans who legally abide by their Second Amendment rights. He further threatens he will invoke twenty-three executive decisions urging bans on guns. By the way when did "gun control" suddenly become "gun violence"?
There have been others before Barack who have hid behind children when giving orders to their countries; two that come to mind is the German Chancellor in the 30's, and in the 90's the Iraqi dictator. Really, Barack using children as photo props. Wonder how many of these precious children know the origin of the Second Amendment. It was laid down by our founding fathers to protect us from government tyranny. Yes, much like Barack is trying to get away with now.
The esteemed Senator from New York is strongly urging WalMart to discontinue the legal sales of legal firearms. But I didn't hear Barack urging his elite Hollywood donors to discontinue making violent crime movies involving guns. Then there's the other esteemed California Senator Diane Feinstein who definitely doesn't know anything about handguns, rifles, and assault weapons. Feinstein wants to ban a legal rifle because of its cosmetics. It is identical to a rifle she calls legal, operates and fires the same way, but its only difference is the pistol hand grip on the rifle.
I should probably thank Barack for making my point that guns don't kill people...people kill people. Think about it; Barack has several armed body guards with weapons surrounding him twenty-four hours a day. He also supplies eleven armed body guards with weapons surrounding his daughters at their school. Who is he protecting himself and his family FROM? There certainly is no need for protection from good law abiding American citizens, of which many are NRA members.
The armed guards surrounding Barack and his family are there to protect him and his family from radical criminals that want to inflict harm on them. Barack and his family need not fear harm from good law abiding citizens, so armed guards are needed to seek out the difference. Which brings to mind; it's OK for armed guards to be at his daughters' school, but he doesn't want armed guards at my grandchildrens' schools. Nah, that's not double standards.
During Barack's photo shoot today the camera shifted to Attorney General Holder several times. Isn't it ironic that Holder, along with his good buddy Barack had "no knowledge" of all the American assault weapons that found their way into the hands of the Mexican cartel; one of which was used to kill border agent Terry. It seems Holder, Barack, and the media does not want to discuss the "Fast & Furious" episode. Wonder why.
Barack should know that over 90% of gun crimes are committed by handguns that are illegally in the hands of criminals that have not desire to abide by the rights of good Americans. Bad people with guns are committing crimes. Barack should focus on that. Why can't we have harsher, more strict punishment on any crime, no matter how small, when it is committed with a gun? We need to stop focusing on guns, and focus more intently on people who commit crimes with guns.
Barack also wants to ban gun magazines that hold more than ten rounds. That has to be one of the most most ridiculous ideas ever presented. I just saw a video where a gun handler changed out three 10-round magazines in less than five seconds. That's as bad as Mayor Bloomberg of New York stopping you from buying a 16-ounce cup of soda, but it's perfectly OK to buy two 8-ounce cups.
Can you name the three things that Chicago and New York have in common? Well, one is these two cities have the highest gun crimes in the country. Another is both of these cities have the strongest gun ban laws in the country. Finally, law abiding citizens do not have the right to carry a weapon. Will someone please explain that to this dumb old man. Please.
I'm going to follow the lead of one of my favorite news anchors from Fox News, Eric Bolling. After the New York newspaper printed the names of gun owners in two counties, Eric said, "I want everyone to know I am a gun owner, and have weapons in my home to protect my family".
I like that philosophy so much that I too want everyone to know I have two .38's and one .357 in my home, and all three are loaded when I set the alarm and go to sleep at night. Oh yeah, I also do my own re-loading.
You know, we should give Barack some credit for today's photo shoot. There is one group of people he made very happy by urging the ban of weapons. He made CRIMINALS very happy.

There have been others before Barack who have hid behind children when giving orders to their countries; two that come to mind is the German Chancellor in the 30's, and in the 90's the Iraqi dictator. Really, Barack using children as photo props. Wonder how many of these precious children know the origin of the Second Amendment. It was laid down by our founding fathers to protect us from government tyranny. Yes, much like Barack is trying to get away with now.
The esteemed Senator from New York is strongly urging WalMart to discontinue the legal sales of legal firearms. But I didn't hear Barack urging his elite Hollywood donors to discontinue making violent crime movies involving guns. Then there's the other esteemed California Senator Diane Feinstein who definitely doesn't know anything about handguns, rifles, and assault weapons. Feinstein wants to ban a legal rifle because of its cosmetics. It is identical to a rifle she calls legal, operates and fires the same way, but its only difference is the pistol hand grip on the rifle.
I should probably thank Barack for making my point that guns don't kill people...people kill people. Think about it; Barack has several armed body guards with weapons surrounding him twenty-four hours a day. He also supplies eleven armed body guards with weapons surrounding his daughters at their school. Who is he protecting himself and his family FROM? There certainly is no need for protection from good law abiding American citizens, of which many are NRA members.
The armed guards surrounding Barack and his family are there to protect him and his family from radical criminals that want to inflict harm on them. Barack and his family need not fear harm from good law abiding citizens, so armed guards are needed to seek out the difference. Which brings to mind; it's OK for armed guards to be at his daughters' school, but he doesn't want armed guards at my grandchildrens' schools. Nah, that's not double standards.
During Barack's photo shoot today the camera shifted to Attorney General Holder several times. Isn't it ironic that Holder, along with his good buddy Barack had "no knowledge" of all the American assault weapons that found their way into the hands of the Mexican cartel; one of which was used to kill border agent Terry. Barack the Messiah??
Yesterday I watched and listened to every word Barack spoke at the press conference. I almost turned off the TV within the first ten minutes. It was hard listening and watching a man that said "I", "me", "mine", and "my" countless times during the first few minutes. And why was it necessary for Barack to keep reminding us, "I am the President". Does he forget that his welfare freebie contingency voted him in last November? We get it Barack.
I expected at any time his press secretary Carney was going to appear on stage with a gallon of Teflon and a wide paint brush. Every issue surrounding the horrendous debt ceiling was the fault of the Republicans in the House. This from a man who has raised our debt ceiling more in four years than all 43 presidents before him COMBINED.
In 2006 Senator Obama voted four times against raising the debt ceiling. In 2008 while campaigning Senator Obama declared, "it is unconstitutional that the Bush administration wants to raise our debt ceiling that is already at $5.Trillion...we cannot pass this burden onto the backs of our children....the buck stops here...we need leadership displayed."
And now, with a debt ceiling of over $16.Trillion just yesterday Barack says, "it is unconstitutional not to raise our debt ceiling to pay our bills...we will further destroy our economy". Someone should tell Barack, to go ahead and exercise the Fourteenth Amendment and raise the debt ceiling on his own. We all know he doesn't have the leadership capability to step up to the job to do it. He also doesn't have the guts.
If Barack raises the debt ceiling on his own, and it fails, which it most certainly will, then Barack will have no one to blame but himself. He even has the arrogance to hold the American people hostage for the SECOND time by saying "if the debt ceiling isn't raised we may not send Social Security checks to our seniors or military pay to our service men/women". How horrid is that? He never once mentioned that the welfare/freebie people were in danger of not getting their monthly freebies to spend on liquor, drugs, strip clubs, and casinos. Oh no, he knows where his bread is buttered.
I'm so glad Barack didn't make math his major study in school. Can anyone understand how he came up with the figure of $4.Trillion in cuts to our national debt? This man is using wars we will not go into as reductions to our debt. He claims that bringing home some troops in 2013 are to be considered cuts to our national debt. He's gone so far as to say the interest on these "future" reductions that haven't taken place yet, as debt reductions.
All Barack kept repeating yesterday was, "either Congress pays its bills or it doesn't...it's as simple as that". Barack reminds me of an old buddy that was proud of playing his "three-card Monty" with all his debts. He'd max out a credit card, then apply for a new one, and on and on.
Does Barack know that for every dollar our government spends .40 cents of it is borrowed. Also, there is heavy interest on that borrowed .40 cents, and guess what we are forced to do in or downward spiraling economy? We are actually borrowing money just to pay the interest on our enormous debt.
This from a man who has not submitted a budget in nearly 1,400 days. This from a man who does not posses the leadership skills to ORDER Senate majority leader Harry Reid to get off his backside and submit a budget and do it now. This man was elected to uphold the Constitution as it was laid out by our founding fathers.
Barack was not voted into our Presidency to change the Constitution. He is the elected President, he is not the Messiah, nor is he Allah. I have the deepest respect for the office of the President, but as a man I cannot respect this disgrace to our highest office. I refer to him as Barack, not Mr. Obama, not President Obama.
Yes, of course there's nothing we can do except hope information comes forward for an impeachment, but I think we all know with a Democrat Senate that's not going to happen. However, we can start the long climb back with mid-term elections in 2014.

Bless our sovereign states
I knew it. Sooner or later Abe Lincoln's message of "can't fool all the people all the time", was going to come shining through. Here comes the tax reform folks, at the STATE level.
Sure, we all know Barack and his "merry bandits" are doing all they can to grow government and inflate tax structures, while marching the citizens of this great country into Socialism. We also realize that on a Federal Tax level there isn't much we can do about it. We're forced to stand by and watch Barack smile into the teleprompter and lie to us. He said taxes would only be raised on those making $400,000 or more, but we know that was a bold-faced lie. Over 77% of Americans have noticed tax increases in their paychecks since 2013 started.
But wait...hold on a minute. Here come some of our great sovereign states pushing back against Barack's Socialism quest to grow government. We now have eight, yes eight states that have no state income taxes to offset the rising federal taxation. Florida, Texas, South Dakota, Tennessee, Wyoming, Nevada, Alaska, and Washington have no state income taxes, and most have no corporate tax.
There is a strong possibility that North Carolina, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana may soon join the ranks of no state income taxes, and no corporate taxes. We are seeing the growth of former President Reagan's successful "trickle down economics" , that was once at the federal level, now being initiated at the state level. The even greater news is that many of these states, including the great state of Ohio where I live, do not impose corporate taxes.
Let's see what this does, as in the states of California, which has the highest state income tax of 13.3% versus Texas which has no state income tax or corporate tax. There is no doubt, and everyone knows the state of California is flat broke. Businesses are relocating to other states, and the only way California can raise revenue is to raise taxes. On this path of no jobs while raising taxes, will almost definitely turn this great state into a crisis from which it may never recover.
What happens when businesses relocate to states that have no corporate taxes? Well, of course they have more capital to invest, so they invest in growth which creates more jobs. We all know what follows don't we? People are also encouraged that these states, along with available jobs, have no state income tax, and eventually migrate to these states.
This creates a win-win for job creation, which results in Americans with better cash flow, which creates more spending, which creates more revenue for the state to continue growing. And while these states are successfully growing we continue to have Barack and his "merry bandits" back in D.C., raising federal taxes to take care of his welfare nanny state. Go ahead Barack, keep it up; you're creating a bubble that's going to definitely explode to the point there will be no money to take of your welfare followers. What then Barack?
You can push around the good people of this great nation only so much Barack. Go ahead, you, Reid, Pelosi, and your minions raise all the taxes you want. Here comes the sovereign states, who are going to survive and flourish in spite of you.
By the way has anyone noticed these states that have legislated no state income tax, and no corporate tax are all significantly above the national unemployment average. Has anyone else also noticed these are all "red" Republican states.
Yes, I feel good that in spite of Barack, and through the great sovereignty of our states America will bounce back and flourish once more. President Reagan must be proud of us.
