Here's what I would do

OK...OK..chalk it up to senility. When you're 77, and feeling bored at the gym doing stupid exercises that certainly won't help this aged arthritic body your mind wanders. Boredom? Stick some ear buds while walking two miles listening to Sinatra or Dean Martin. Now that will make your senile mind wander.

I guess this is where my political absurdity comes in.  So to off-set my boredom I started to think of ways I could bring down this great American country if I were its leader, President, etc.

The three best topics for a leader to explore in bringing a country "to its knees" is of course, political, financial, and lack of transparency.

If I were that leader my first order of business would be to interrupt and slow down as much American production as possible. There are several ways to do this.

I would assess the American people an $850Billion tax. Then I would use this money to initiate solar and wind panel production in a foreign country. This would help wipe out the coal industry here in the U.S.

Then I would take some more of the tax money, and loan it to a auto make to make electric cars in a foreign country. I would give hundreds of millions of dollars to a foreign country to build a sports car, even if the car fails.

Along those lines I would hire a jobs leader, call him a "czar', and ask him to spend $2Billion in a foreign country to help build airplanes. I would reward the company of this job czar by letting his company profit by over $5Billion without paying taxes.

Another way to help bring this country down would be to devise a healthcare insurance plan that would have twenty-two taxes hidden in the plan. This healthcare insurance plan would be comprised of 2,970 pages that no one would read before it was passed.

One of the taxes in this plan would be to charge all American based medical manufacturing companies large tax increases on any medical equipment they manufactured. This would certainly slow the growth of these companies. Another tax would be a 3.8% additional tax on any home sold in this country.

I would stop all oil and refinery development in this country, so that our country would continue to rely on purchasing at a high price the oil from middle eastern countries to help their growth and nearly stop this country's growth. One way would be to stop a pipeline from doing business in our country to sell oil here.

This would force the pipeline country to sell its oil to a eastern country and would therefore continue our country to be dependent on oil at high prices from the middle east.

As the leader of this country I could further insure its demise by extending all the entitlement programs, i.e., unemployment/welfare/food stamps to the highest it has ever been since World War II.

Then I would use my powers through an "executive order" to direct all my border patrol agents that when they stop an illegal alien from crossing the border, if the alien says they went to high school in our country, then they could cross unquestioned, and not have to show papers.

Another thing I would do is instruct my leading Attorney that he should allow our American weapons to land in the hands of drug cartel leaders, in hopes I just may be rewarded with votes, etc., down the road. I may do this even if it meant one of my own American citizen border agents were killed with one of these weapons.

While other countries are lowering corporate taxes to increase investment in jobs I would raise corporate taxes to 39.2% in this country to again slow or stop growth, production, and jobs. I would pacify the people in this country by forming a jobs council, but of course I would never meet with them.

I would use the help of a billionaire friend to help me use the media to push my agendas to bring this country down by broadcasting lies to the people of this country. The media would also help me bash any opponent that would try to dethrone me from my position.

And while I'm doing all this I will hide from the people of this country any information about me, i.e., school grades, birth information, important documents that may show my validity to this country. I will hope that the people of this country will understand and buy this and reelect me to do this all over again for another four years.

Yes, that's what I would do to bring this country down.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.....God Bless our Troops

Ninety-Nine Days

We're getting closer folks, and it's time to start pulling the stops out, or as "Old Blue Eyes" used to sing...."start spreading the news (words)".

Those of us who are praying for a change should start our communication skills now to oust this man that's now residing in OUR White House. Nothing personal Mr. President, but you not only don't deserve a second term, we can't find a thing you've done that we would like repeated if you should get reelected. Can anyone think of anything they'd like repeated?  Tell me please.

The first stimulus package of $850Billion was spent on projects that have given no return on our investment. That's not even your money Mr. President; that money belongs to us taxpayers.

Money to Solyndra, overseas wind and solar panel companies that have gone bust. General Motors overseas electric cars, foreign sports cars in the Netherlands. None of these companies have given a dime back to the U.S.A.

Then when you're convinced another stimulus would be a bad idea you decide that to get some revenue into the coffers of Congress you raise taxes. Who gave you the idea of raising taxes in a recession? Valerie?  Even Clinton said it was a bad idea.

First you convince the American people that if a $850.Billion stimulus package is passed, our unemployment would never go higher than 7%. Unemployment is now published at 8.2%, but we all know the true unemployment is 14.2%.

Your Obamacare is a debacle. It is so bad that 27 states will not utilize Obamacare, and most states are still promoting to have it repealed. Obamacare, with its hidden 22 tax directives, is so bad you won't even tout it on your campaign tour.

As a matter of fact, and I mean the term "matter of fact" with strong conviction, you have absolutely not a thing to tout as an accomplishment  on your campaign tour. So what do you do? You bash Governor Romney over and over again.

How dare you criticize Governor Romney with your lies about Bain Capital. He was running the Olympics when the then head of Bain was contributing to your 2008 campaign. At least the money at Bain belonged to the private sector of private investors, not taxpayer's money.

Mr. President, you're great at spending other people's money. Have you ever started a business? Created a job on your own? Met a payroll?  You are the greatest smoke screen person in the world. You don't give Americans enough credit. You expect us to continue to focus on Bain Capital and Romney's tax returns instead of what you have not accomplished in your first term.

Now, I'm not going to belabor your heritage, but there's a video of your first speech as a U.S. Senator from Illinois to a group of students where you admitted on camera that you were born in Kenya. Don't worry Mr. President the media won't run it. But if you were a Republican you can bet it would be all over the TV.

What would you do Mr. President if Governor Romeny said he would release his tax documents if you would release your college grade transcripts? Would you accept the challenge? If your answer is no, then you must be hiding something.

Tomorrow will be ninety-eight days left, and I've got plenty more to write to help this country stay as the United States of American, and not the United State of Greece.

And that's Politics with Pete for today......God Bless our Troops.

Race - ism? - ist?

The word "Race" by itself, as defined in the dictionary, is a beautiful explanation of the word. Race is defined as "a group of people, defined by their physical characteristics, while sharing the same culture, language, religion, etc."

But when you add "ism", or "ist" to the end of the word race it takes on a whole new meaning. To declare a person a racist, or to to accuse a person of practicing racism is a vile and insulting practice, and has no place in today's society.

Currently we have a bi-racial President in the White House. Barack Hussein Obama has as much Caucasian  heritage as much as he has African-American.  In 2008 most Americans felt this mixture of Caucasian-African-American heritage was the beginning of greatly improving the suffering race relations in our great country.

However, many would argue that the division between our two prominent races in our country is the worst it has ever been. Some African-American leaders go so far as to imply if you call our President "half-white", then you are truly a racist.

When anyone, African-American or Caucasian-American disagrees with any of our President's policies they are quickly labeled a racist, and "surely practices racism in their daily life".

The media, along with the support of African-American leaders such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Van Jones, Jeremy Wright, and even actor James Earl Jones spread hate filled rhetoric against Caucasian-Americans every time a disagreement against President Obama is voiced.

I am completely and totally against all of President Obama's policies. I have been called a racist by many of my critics.  I want to ask my critics if they think I'm a racist against  President Obama's Caucasian part or African part?

Yes, our President looks more African than Caucasian. That's obvious to see, but in my opinion the true racists are the African-American leaders of this country that refer to President Obama is "OUR  first black President".   Maybe we would have better race relations in this country if the likes of Sharpton, Jackson, Jones, etc., would refer to President Obama as bi-racial, and carries as much Caucasian blood in him as he does African-American.

I am not against the President's policies because of his skin color. It is because his policies are doing nothing to improve our poor economy and job losses. I am completely against Obamacare because he will increase our national debt by a large percentage if given a second term, not because of his skin color.

I am against President Obama's policies because of the mis-truths he has told us, and his complete lack of transparency, not because of his skin color. President Obama does not deserve a second term as President for many reasons, such as his lack of leadership, not because of his skin color.

Our President has my respect as a husband and father, as I'm sure he is a purely decent man.
However, I will write a blog a day for the next 100 days to do my best to oust him out of OUR
White House. But none of of these reasons will be because of his skin color.

In fact, if anyone, refuses to vote for President Obama because of his skin color they are truly a racist, and definitely harms race relations in our country. Vote for or against President Obama because of his policies, and only because of his policies, and how you feel about his leadership, not because of his skin color.

This great country has come too far to step back into racism.

And that's Politics with Pete for today......God Bless our Troops

Fair Share? Where? How?

If I hear the President use that term "Fair Share" one more time my head is going to explode. There are so many explanations he needs to give Americans about his theory of "Fair Share".

Does it mean that if I net more money than my neighbor each month that I should just walk over and give my neighbor some of my money to help them out? Does it mean I should walk around my neighborhood offering to pay some utility bills for my neighbors? Is that what you mean by "Fair Share" Mr. President?

Maybe the ultimate of "Fair Share" means all Americans should send ALL their money to you Mr. President, and then you will dole out all money evenly, so that all Americans will be assured of  a "Fair Share". Is that what you mean by "Fair Share"?

One of your methods of "Fair Share" is to raise taxes on any single individual grossing over $200,000 per year and raise taxes for any family grossing over $250,000 per year.  The total yearly revenue from these raised taxes will be $85Billion a year. With a $16Trillion deficit, and your spending in excess of $1.5 Trillion a year the revenue from this will help you for about eight days. Hooray for raising taxes to help our government for eight days. Again I ask Mr. President, is that your definition of "Fair Share"?

Mr. President has your advisers informed you that less than the top five percent of Americans pay ninety-five percent (95%) of all income taxes.  So in this recession, and when the GDP's latest growth is 1.5% you proclaim the answer is to raise taxes. Yes, that certainly seems like "Fair Share" to us Americans.

Mr. President, please be logical. You do not raise taxes of any kind on any income group when you are in a recession period.

By the way Mr. President, where is that taxed money going to continue to come from?  Did you know the top gross earning in the U.S. by people making more than a million dollars a year has decreased by 36%? By the same token welfare/unemployment/food stamp distribution has increased by 14% this past year. This begs me to ask you again: Where does the revenue you want going to come from? Is that your definition of "Fair Share"?

Can we agree, Mr. President, that no one on unemployment/welfare/ or food stamps ever created a job? Yes, I know you'll at least to agree to that. And if our GDP and unemployment stays on this path, you must agree there soon will be no entitlement funds for those on welfare/unemployment/ or food stamps to explain your theory of "Fair Share".

I would just like to ask you, Mr. President, or any of your supporters,  to explain to me how this logic works; raise taxes in a recession period to stimulate our economy for job growth. Does that mean the U.S. just keeps fairly sharing until we become Greece?

Now here's a novel idea. Drastically reduce corporate taxes on those large, medium, and small
businesses to encourage them to invest and create more jobs. Offer incentives to increase investments of all businesses. Doesn't that make more sense than your great idea of "Fair Share"?

No matter how you approach this, and no matter what your tele-prompter says, if you don't have a plan(s) to hire more people, and get people off welfare and unemployment, and CUT
Federal spending we will never recover from this bad economy, and create more jobs.

Mr. President, that's what you call "Fair Share" for all Americans.

And that's Politics with Pete for today......God Bless our troops.

Oh no you don't Mr. President

This morning while working out at the gym I started to think about the topic of today's blog. We're 103 days from election, and I've promised to write a blog a day to encourage any in range of my blog to help vote the President and his administration out of OUR White House.

I was thinking that today's blog could be on "Racism", or that term the President uses on his campaign trail in front of his teleprompter just about three times a day, while he's asking for our money; "Fair Share".

Then I started to listen to TV and radio at all the "marching back" and false justification of the President's comment that, "if you have a business, you didn't build it, someone else did everything for you".

Mr. President, this is one of the most degrading comment you have ever spoken to the great Americans of this country that, on their own, started their own businesses.

Then you tried to justify it by saying your comments were taken out of context. You said you meant that bridges and roads were built by the government to help people get to their businesses

No, no Mr. President...I, for one am not letting you off the hook for such a disgusting statement. You have insulted all Americans and derided hard working Americans that took a chance by stating, that being smart doesn't have anything to do with creating your own business.

This from a man we know nothing about, and what we do know verifies that you never created nor ran your own business.  Mr. President, you have never created a job on your own without using tax payer's money.

Mr. President, I do not believe your statements were taken out of context. You knew exactly what you were saying.  My own personal opinion, and I have ammunition to strongly support it is that you believe we need to grow government, and the private sector, by your own words, "is doing just fine".

All business owners; large, medium, and small have paid taxes to the government to pay for the roads. Also, the roads built were from American business owners and American workers. Did government workers from the Pentagon, Congress, or the White House go to the road sites and pick up a shovel?  Those were Americans, and the construction companies were most likely privately owned.

And under your Presidency unemployment, welfare, and  food stamp distribution has grown at the highest rate of any President since FDR. You have increased our national debt to $16Trillion. You have not passed a budget in 3.5 years, and have not even met with your jobs council in over six months.

As New Jersey's Governor Christie recently said, "Mr President, what the h_ _ _ are we paying your for"?

Get off the darn basketball court and off the golf course and start leading.  That is if you know how. Remember what Lee Iacoco said, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way".

Here's hoping, Mr. President that in November you get out of the way. The great Americans that started business on  their own, and the rest of us Americans in this great country cannot afford to to pay you anymore.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.....God Bless our Troops

Lies vs. "untruths"

I was told a long time ago that your personal opinion and a dollar bill will only get you a stale cup of coffee at 7-11. Oh, I have plenty of opinions and personal values that I'm going to share with you in the coming weeks.

Today, I'm going to stick with facts, recent political polls, and the Congressional Budge Office findings  I'm strongly inviting my liberal progressive friends to weigh in on my facts, and offer any comments they deem truthful and honest that would negate my facts.

First, I was so glad to read a news-worthy poll this morning that finally broke the stigma of "it's all Bush's fault". A very reliable poll reflected that 39% of Americans blame our poor economy squarely on the shoulders of President Obama and his policies.

That is 16% more than blaming former President Bush, with 13% undecided. Whew! Finally the media is at least starting to tell the truth. Way to go.

President Obama failed to tell Americans about the 22 taxes that are hidden in his signature Obamacare. One of the main taxes are published directly from the Congressional Budget Office, and that is over the next ten years Obamacare will cost the American people more than $800.Billion in additional taxes (20-30 percent). Not makin' this stuff up folks. Call the CBO.

President Obama told just a teeny little untruth on his campaign trail very recently. He stated that, "since I've been President, federal spending has risen at the lowest pace in 60 years".

However, the CBO, along with CNS news have figures that reflect the federal government under President Obama has spent over 25% of GDP.  That is an increase of 21.2%. President Obama has been in our White House for three of the four years that federal government has spent more than 24% of GDP.....the highest since WWII.

During the time that President Obama claims Governor Romney decimated Bain Capital the valid truth is an Obama supporter and contributor was in charge of Bain Capital, and was responsible for job out-sourcing and lay-offs.  Of course the media only tells you it was Romney at Bain, when he was really heading up our Olympics.

But a trend is starting, and is growing. And that is the American people are not believing the media and President Obama as much anymore.

America is a great country, and Americans are the people that made this country great, not the liars in the White House We're finally getting a little fed up with Obama and his media.

And there's more to come....I promised that from now till election I'm going to write my blogs to help all I can to unseat the people that occupy OUR White House. Please stay tuned.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.........God Bless Our Troops.

Is this an ABC news lie?

In my last blog, "108 Days left", I wrote that I was going to write a blog a day to state facts, along with my own personal views and opinions to do my best to convince as many of my readers as I can, to help unseat the current administration from OUR White House.

So many areas to cite, so please excuse me if it seems that I'm "rambling". An old English college prof of mine once said, "don't feel bad if you ramble....sometimes rambling is good".

I'd like to start with ABC news. Today, I read an article by the real Jim Holmes from Aurora, Colorado that is associated with the Tea Party. He said no one from ABC called to verify who he was. After Brian Ross from ABC reported to George Stephanopoulus that he, Brian, found out there was a Jim Holmes from Aurora that "may be" associated with the Tea Party.

Now the population of Aurora exceeds 300,000, and yet Brian Ross nor ABC news took any steps to verify the validity of Ross's statement. Yes, they, ABC, recognized their mistake later, but their initial statement was made just minutes after the tragedy. Victims were still dying, bleeding, and in pain, and yet this journalistic reported thought only of his "breaking news".

I had a friend, named Jim Holmes, that I knew quite well when I lived out West several years ago. How much credibility would I have if I started to blog that "just maybe the alleged shooter in Aurora was a direct relative of the Jim Holmes I know out West".

I would venture to say that the paper I blog for, News-Herald, would be sending me on my way.

Bernie Goldberg, a Fox News Contributor, states he knows Brian Ross to be a responsible journalist. Mr. Goldberg, I must vehemently disagree with you.

A responsible journalist would never knowingly report a blatant lie, and then later only offer an "oops". It doesn't work that way Mr. Ross.

You owe the authentic Mr. Holmes of the Tea Party from Aurora an apology. To date he has not received one from you, George Stephanapoulus, nor ABC.

Do you and George have an agenda? Is that your back door admittance that you're in President Obama's back pocket? Will you continue to report lies that may help this President get reelected, or will you try to gain a little credibility with your viewers and listeners, and start reporting the truth? As of now you're a disgrace to journalism, and have no right to the trust of the American truth seeking public.

Just getting started folks. We Americans who truly love this country and want to see our economy prosper with jobs, and eradicate our true 14% unemployment will unseat this administration fro OUR  White House.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.....God Bless our troops

108 days left

How many of us have uttered, "but what can I do"? I've honestly asked myself the same question, especially regarding the upcoming November Presidential election.

I thought, "I'm just one small single vote in the voting booth". Yes, I know my vote counts, as do millions of other Americans, but is there something else I can do?

Then I decided, there is something I can do. The wonderful News-Herald has afforded me a "voice" to express my views and opinions. They've also afforded me to research and present honest facts to anyone who will humble me by reading my blogs.

I intend to write a blog a day for the remaining 108 days until the big election. My goal is to do all I can through my blogs to unseat the current administration that sits in our White House, yes OUR White House. This has nothing to do with our current President. I'm sure he's a fine husband and father.

However, our President's policies, along with his supporting cast of Biden, Jarret, Axelrod, Geithner, Holder, Reid, Pelosi, and many more, all the way down to press secretary Carney, are bringing our economy down, and have done nothing, but blame the previous administration for all that's wrong in our country today. Since I was a little kid and blamed my older sister for everything, I found out just how easy it is to shed blame, along with responsibility..

We all know most of the media is in the tank for our President, so I know how difficult my task will be. But, you know, if I can get just one person, who might get another person, and so on then maybe our country will get back to what has made it so great.

An example is that just minutes, not hours, minutes, after the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, while victims were still in pain and bleeding, George Stephanapoulos of ABC brought on reporter Brian Ross. Now, mind you just minutes after the shooting, Brian Ross reported that that there was a Jim Holmes from Aurora that last year "talked about" joining the Tea Party. We'll discuss this and other media bias stories in the upcoming 108 days.

So my commitment to anyone who will take the time to read my blogs for the next 108 days is that there will be no lies in my blogs. I will research all the facts that I write.  My views and opinions will be just that; my own personal views and opinions.

I will welcome all opposing views for debate, and I promise I will never personally attack an individual or policy, and only ask the same.

So, please start reading my blogs starting tomorrow. Let's all work together to get  our White House back in the hands of the right leadership where it belongs. Spread the good word folks.

And that's Politics with Pete for today. God Bless our troops.

Focus media, focus

I guess I hope and pray for too much where the media is concerned. If you ask everyone what they want from the media outlets they follow, they will all say that they want the truth.

They want the truth, and they don't want the truth to be camouflaged with lies, slander, or putting their network ratings agenda ahead of what Americans really want to read and hear.

Of course the people reporting the news have many left-leaning views, along with many that have right-leaning views. That's OK, and as a matter of fact most people welcome all views in the reporting of news. But as Jack Webb used to say, "just the facts Maam".

What Americans don't want is their news to be tarnished with lies, and bias. If news reporters would concentrate on reporting the news that's really important to John and Jane Doe there news reporting would have so much more meaning for all Americans.

Americans want to make up their own mind about news. They don't need, and don't want to have so much untrue junk that accompanies the news. A news network may think that by reporting their own bias, along with lies that the American people will be drawn closer to listening and believing them.

This type of network couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, initially people will be entertained by listening and watching this type of news outlet. But eventually people will just laugh at these networks, and stop tuning them in.

I'm not going to waste your time by giving you examples. You already know who these networks are. You already know where you can get the news reported truthfully. These networks that report the news truthfully will earn your allegiance and following.

This morning I turned on the TV, and was greeted with the news that a tragic shooting occured in Aurora, Colorado at a midnight showing of the new Batman movie. Fourteen were killed and fifty injured, and it was quickly discovered the shooter's name was Jim Holmes.

Minutes, just minutes after the shooting a major network reported that there was a Jim Holmes from Aurora was "talking about" joining the Tea Party last year. Now the network went on to report that "we don't know if this is the same Jim Holmes that did the shooting, but it certainly bears mentioning". I'd like to know the relevance of that statement that has yet to be proven correct.

Now, without revealing the name of this network, I will tell you this is a network that leans strongly to the left, and is currently seeking negative news about conservative policies and views, without reporting the news truthfully. Yes, you know who it is.

Now, you can bet this network will "run" with the story that Jim Holmes may be a Tea Party member more than they will report on the victims of this tragedy.  Americans will have to make their own decisions f they want to follow this possible "made-up" news story.

Along with millions of other Americans I really don't care about Governor Romney's "Bain adventures", nor do I care about Obama's grades in college. I don't care about Romney's tax returns that seem to plague the left-leaning networks. Nor do I care about Obama's association with Pastor Wright.  What, in God's name do those issues have to do with what's dragging our economy down?  What do these issues have to do with the economy and much needed jobs?

Do you really care about Governor Romney's wife's horse doing dressage for her medical therapy?  Do you really care what Michelle Obama wants you to eat for breakfast?  It seems the networks care, just on the hope it may boost their ratings.

Americans, we have much, much bigger issues at hand. John and Jane Doe are sitting at their kitchen table mired deeply in their budget trying to figure how to make their next house payment, send the kids to college, and are their jobs going to be there ten years from now?

I guarantee you most Americans are not paying too much attention to the negative gossip going around the campaigns now. I am worried about the future of our country for my children and grandchildren. Isn't that more important to you than the juicy gossip the networks are using to increase their ratings?

Please, please media report the news truthfully. We need you to do that. And if you do that truthfully we'll follow you, tune you in, and believe you.

If you put your ratings above reporting the news truthfully I know I don't have to tell you what eventually will happen.  Just ask......never mind you know who I mean.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.......please pray for the victims from the tragedy in Aurora

Sales tax, not income tax

This morning's op-ed page of the News-Herald published an article by Mr. Richard Prunty of Mentor. Mr. Prunty's article exemplifies our First Amendment rights protecting our rights to say and write with freedom. Good for you Mr. Prunty.

I'm sorry I lost my credibility with Mr. Prunty with my blog on Obamacare and he certainly has the right to mistrust any of my future blogs. I had two uncles, a cousin, and a close friend who gave their lives in military combat protecting our First Amendment rights.

Please know Mr. Prunty that I will do all I can to gain some modicum of credibility with you  in any of my blogs I encourage and hope you may read in the future. Also know, and this is important. I do not publish any facts on my blogs without researching their validity.

It's relatively obvious Mr. Prunty that you didn't read the 2,970 pages of Obamacare. Please don't feel bad. Millions of Americans, along with our own members of the House & Senate didn't read the bill either. Not to belabor her remarks, but I'm sure you recall then-Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi when she giggled at the podium, "you have to read the bill to find out what's in it".

Did you read the 2,970 pages Mr. Prunty? I would guess you haven't yet. But then I could be wrong. Maybe you did take the time to real ALL   2,970 pages. If you have you have something on me, along with most elected members of Congress.

Now, Mr. Prunty, as I've written earlier, I will offer my opinions in my blogs, and they are just my own personal opinions, but please know I research the truth of the facts that I present in my blogs, and stand by them.

So, Mr. Prunty, you certainly have every right to call my facts "untruths", and I might have done the same had I not researched the facts, and it shows possibly you didn't.

If not my facts, would you accept the facts presented by the National Association of Realtors? Ir maybe visit www.gop.gov to look up the pages and paragraphs of Obamacare where my facts are published for public record. You see, Mr. Prunty, I did. These documents will highlight the pages of paragraphs where these facts are cited.

Perhaps, this is where you "misread" President Obama's directive: Presidnt Obama stated he would not raise income taxes on any single person grossing under $200,000., a year, or a family grossing less than $250,000., per year.

However, Mr. Prunty, this does not encompass the sale of your home. What my facts, and the facts of the National Association of Realtors, and stated in www.gop.gov will reflect that regardless, yes, regardless of your yearly income you will, I repeat, will pay a 3.8% sales tax on the the sale of your home. The operative words here are sales tax, and not income tax.

Your annual income has no bearing on the sales tax you must pay on the sales tax of your sold home.

Mr. Prunty with these facts, I hope I have restored some modicum of credibility with you, and I encourage to continue reading my blogs. And please feel free to challenge any of my facts and views. I welcome them.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Thank you News-Herald

Yesterday evening the News-Herald hosted a media lab blogger's social event. I wanted to take a break from blogging on politics to pay a small "thank you" to their staff.

The meeting was led by Ms. Cheryl Sadler, one of the communications leaders of the blogging lab of the News-Herald.

As a "newbie" in the blog world I want to commend Ms. Sadler, her staff, and the rest of bloggers in attendance who extended much needed help my way.

It was a very informative exchange of ideas and experiences, that I know I will be able to use in my future blogs.  The patience of Ms. Sadler and the other bloggers were one of the most impressive attributes I came away with.

And when the meeting was over Ms. Sadler was very helpful in areas where I can make my blog more effective. By this time she already had logged in several hours, but still took time to help me. Thank you Cheryl.

In closing, again I thank the News-Herald for this vehicle to express my political views and ideas,  along with my fellow bloggers at the meeting. A great deal was shared by all.

No Politics with Pete for today....just a "thank you" from Pete. The only negative thing out of the meeting was my wife's anger at me because of the large ice cream sundae I ate. She kept reminding me all the way home I didn't need the calories. My wife will not be attending our next lab meeting.

Thank you Mr. President

We conservative Republicans have been waiting a while for GOP candidate Governor Romney to wake up and start becoming aggressive during his campaign.  It seemed he didn't have a "starting point".

And thanks to the President's speech last Friday in Roanoke, Virginia he gave Governor Romney the ammunition and starting point that was needed when President Obama said,
"if you have a business....you didn't start it".

This was like waking a sleeping giant. President Obama wants to raises taxes on everyone.
Of course he's hiding that with his famous slight of hand gimmicks, i.e., increase in payroll taxes, increase in estate taxes, increase taxes on home sales, medical equipment manufacturing taxes, and the list goes on and on.

And to that he now openly insulted some great Americans, i.e., Jobs, Gates, Henry Ford, Edison, and the list goes on. What a beautiful gift he gave Governor Romney.

When the President proclaimed that all business owners did not start their businesses he may have created a Howard Dean or Dukakis moment for himself. Remember when Dean was ahead in the Democrat convention in 2000 until he let out his famous scream at a rally?  Remember the image we'll all have of Dukakis with his helmeted head sticking out of a tank?

Well, after watching and listening to Governor Romney's speech on the President uttering, "if you have a business.....you didn't start it", you can bet this will be rightfully used in the GOP campaign from now to November. Thank you Mr. President for that ammunition.

Suddenly, Americans are now observing the true Barack Obama. He wants to squelch the private enterprise. He must because he's satisfied with the private sector. He even spoke to that.

It's now coming to the fore front that this President has no accomplishments to run on. There is nothing he has done that Americans want repeated if he is reelected. Do you blame him for smooth talking the Americans about Bain Capital? The same Bain Capital that contributed millions to the the Obama campaign in 2008.

Just a little side note off the subject, but bears noticing. The President lied in Virginia when he said Governor Romney was going to create 800,000 jobs, but they were all in foreign countries.

The reason the President lied is so you would not draw attention to the jobs he created with our stimulus money creating solar panels, sports cars, General Motors cars and parts.  All along GE's overseas job markets in 32 countries and not paying taxes on the profits.

Is this a great country or what? Thanks again for the ammunition Mr. President.

And that's Politics with Pete for today

Now, watch my other hand

It is becoming more obvious every day as our President speaks on his campaign trail, that he has no idea how small businesses, or for that matter, any business operates.  Some may call it campaign gaffes, however it is obvious he truly believes what he preaches.

Our President wants you to focus on Governor Romney's alleged outsourcing while the Governor wasn't even at Bain Capital.  And as long as President Obama can successfully maintain these untruths about Governor Romney then you won't focus on some facts about our President's own outsourcing.

Here's some facts that I'm welcoming my critics to dispute: Almost immediately after taking office President Obama appointed Jeffrey Immelt, GE's CEO as his job "czar".

President Obama touted Immelt as a great leader in creating jobs for success.  What President Obama failed to instruct Immelt was that he was supposed to create jobs for our United States, not China.

General Electric had, and I emphasize HAD an X-Ray division in Waukesha, Wisconsin for 115 years. Our job "czar' moved this X-Ray division from Wisconsin to Beijing, China.

Also, GE will invest $2Billion in China creating six research centers, and will train more than 65 engineers to oversee the project.  Thousands of Americans lost their jobs in Wisconsin. I wonder if some of these Americans were part of the protest against Wisconsin Governor Walker.

Oh yes, this is the same GE that made over $5.1 billion in the United States last year, and paid no, yes zero taxes.  GE currently has over 300,000 employees in 32 countries, and pays no taxes on the profits it makes in these 32 countries. What a great job "czar" huh?

Doesn't this prove that our President has no business savvy?  If that's not enough how about the other day in Ohio when our President proclaimed, "if you have a successful business you didn't start it....someone else did". This is the same President that the only job he ever held was as a community organizer. You think he ever managed a payroll?  I doubt it.

A close friend of mine started a small medical supply business some years ago. At first he and his wife were the only employees.  He grew the business to seven employees, and wanted to expand.  His wife went outside the business to get another job for cash flow help. Together they grossed $265,000 yearly.

They have three children; one in college. My friend decided with Obamacare and increased taxes on the way it was necessary to close down his business and sell it.

Now, Mr. President, this is one individual who started his business on his own, and no one started it for him, and due to your policies he had to walk away from the business he so successfully created on his own with no help .

How many Americans know that from 2009 through 2011 that two-thirds of the Obama's income is derived from foreign countries? And he wants us to give him four more years. I think not Mr. President.

I can just imagine the "czars" he'll appoint during his lame duck presidency for the next four years. He'll probably appoint people like Franklin Raines, Tim Howard, and Jim Johnson.  Let me refresh your memories about these nice guys.

Raines was Chairman and CEO of Fannie Mae.  He was forced to retire when several irregularities were discovered. A Federal suit was brought against him. Raines now serves as President Obam's Chief Economic Advisor.

And then there's Tim Howard. he was Fannie Mae's Chief Finance Officer, who was also forced to resign after triggering huge irregular bonuses. Howard now works for Raines on Obama's
Economic Advisory staff.

And finally we have Jim Johnson, a former chief executive at Lehman Brothers, who also, due to extreme irregularities, was forced to resign.  Johnson is now President Obama's Senior Finance Advisor, and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search

Did I mention these three men were released with a combined "parachute" bonus totaling $288.Million.

And you wonder why our country has no leadership, with a President who has no business experience and savvy. Wonder who started Obama's business for him.

Mr. President please stop digging the hole until November, when we will change our White House line up. Please put small, medium, and large businesses ahead of your own personal interests and friends.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Got great idea

Recently our Attorney General, Eric Holder, spoke at the NAACP convention. In order to facilitate the large crowd and maintain an orderly manner a photo I.D. was required for entrance into the Houston NAACP convention for everyone, yes everyone.

For clarification please let me repeat that. To witness the Attorney General, Eric Holder speaking at the NAACP Convention a photo I.D. was required to enter and participate.

Now, is this the same Attorney General that is suing Texas and other states for requiring a photo I.D. to enter the voting polls this November?

Is this the same Attorney General that is accusing the state of Texas as "attempting a poll tax, similar to the Jim Crow era,  to restrict minorities from voting"?

The state of Texas has offered free photo I.D.'s, and even free transportation to individuals to go to places to receive photo I.D.'s at no cost to the individual. Is this the same Attorney General that is still going ahead with the lawsuit against Texas?

A young lady from San Antonio, Texas claims that even with the free photo I.D., and free transportation she just doesn't have time to get a photo I.D.  Now, just one more question.  Is this the same Attorney General that on taxpayer's money flew this young lady to Washington to address a committee that she didn't have enough time to get a photo I.D.

This young lady doesn't have time in Texas to get a photo I.D. and transportation with no cost to her, but has time to fly to Washington to address a committee.

Here's my idea. We need to get medical science to clone Attorney General Eric Holder and have him placed in every voting location this November. Then it will be law that everyone will have to present a photo I.D. as a requirement to vote.

OK, we can't clone Holder, and by the way who would want to, but maybe a large life-like poster of him at all voting sites across the country, and tell everyone they need a photo I.D. to get in, and if they do they can have their picture taken next to the poster.

Great idea huh?

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Fair & Balanced

I have six children and nine grandchildren. The ages of my grandchildren range in age from 27 to 5 years of age. I won't give the ages of my children, as the two oldest are women, and they will kill me if I gave out their ages.  They all know I'm a "news junkie", and you can just imagine the teasing and razzing I take from all fifteen of them.

Most of them agree with my strong conservative views and narratives, But they would never agree with me personally. They get more fun teasing me. They even tease me about being a published blogger for the News-Herald. There are debates at times, but never is a word uttered with a personal attack. They really love and respect the old man.  I am truly blessed with all fifteen of them, along with their husbands, wives, boyfriends and girlfriends.

Sunday we celebrated my granddaughter's birthday picnic, along with meeting her boyfriend's family for the first time. Before we left the house I promised my wife I would not bring up politics for discussion.  However, within the first hour of meeting all these wonderful people, someone leaked that I was a news junkie and blogged for the News-Herald.

The birthday picnic party was crowded with uncles, aunts, family friends, and even infants.
Hey, there were some strong Democrat union folks there too. Not a voice was raised, nothing but pure respect, even with strong disagreement, among us.  In fact it was so civil there are some radio and TV news outlets that could have learned something by attending the picnic.

What was the basic ingredient? Yes, you're right; respectively listening to the other points of view without personally attacking them because they happen to disagree with you. They all knew I was a strong Governor Romney supporter. There were no lies, nor attacks on Romney, while strong liberal Democrats disagreed with my views.

OK Peter what's this blog about? Well, this morning I was in the Dr.'s waiting room. On the TV was a cable TV morning news program. Now, it's a fact this network is in last place in the ratings. The receptionist would not change the channel, so I sat there trying to be objective listening to the delivery of the newscaster. However, it was easy to understand why this network is in last place in ratings.

This is where I'm not going to waste time on the lowly rated network. Rather I'd like to focus on the great American people of this great American country.

If you ask American people they will tell you there are plenty of TV and radio networks that you tune into for entertainment only. When Americans want truthful news they demand truthful news. They don't want news that's biased and full of untruths and personal attacks.

I am faithful to Fox News, and I'm sure there are many critics who read this will attack me for watching Fox. Everyone has a choice to make when watching the news. But I really don't care if you're a Democrat, Republican, or Independent you can't lie that you want your news to be fair and balanced and offer the truth.

So I'm going to close with a question to my critics? What is the number one cable TV news network on the cable? Why does O'Reilly beat all of MSNBC programs combined, not just Ed Schultz? A new show on Fox, The Five at 5:00 EST, is on opposite a veteran newscaster that has many years experience, Christ Matthews. The Five even has a strong liberal Democrat on the show. The Five easily out-rates Christ Matthews Hardball very easily.

I would like someone to tell me why is Fox ranked number one, while the other networks are a distant, very distant 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Why do more, many more Americans tune into Fox News when they want the truthful news fair & balanced? I really don't want to read your junk on why you hate Fox. That's your prerogative, and I respect it.Tune into the program you want.

I just want you to tell me why, why do millions of Americans tune into Fox more than all the other news cable TV networks COMBINED. Anyone can throw stones at something they don't like, but it may be hard to remain objective. Try it...might make you feel good. That's if you want truthful news.

Really??

Today, I read in the op-ed page of the News-Herald where an individual wrote in  the praises of Obamacare. After I initially read it I wanted to stand up and start singing Kumbayii, and dance around the room.

Then I started to ask a few questions to myself, and remembered some pure facts about the new Obamacare law. Suddenly I didn't want to sing and dance anymore.

Remember when then-Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, was standing at the podium, and was giggling as she said, "you have to read the bill to find out what's in it"?

Well, Ms. Pelosi, some people did read the 2,970 pages, after it was enacted into law, and a few very interesting facts and pieces of information became public to the American people.

The first fact fact that emerged was that approximately 20-30 million people are going to be added to the rolls of Obamacare, and the majority of these 20-30 million people are unemployed, so where is the money to pay for them coming from?

We also discovered that part of the funding for Obamacare was coming from cutting the funds for Medicare and Medicaid. I guess the White House thinks that's OK, cause it's just for us old people.

And of course the media won't inform you that twenty-seven states will not honor Obamacare in their respective states.  And what's with the provision that young people can move back home with the folks, and hide in their parent's healthcare plan?

When I turned 18 my loving father placed his right foot in the small of my back and gently nudged me out the front door as he said, "you're on your own now...either go to college, or join the military, or get a full time job. You can still come to dinner Sunday, after Mass".

I never expected my parents to "carry" me in any way. So three days after high school graduation I got a full time job in the local steel mills. Seven months later I joined the military for four years, then went to college under the G.I. Bill.   Unless I was physically impaired I can't imagine living at home, under Dad's healthcare plan till I was twenty-six.

Also hidden in the 2,970 pages is a provision that all U.S. manufacturers of medical equipment must pay a healthy tax as the equipment rolls off the assembly line. Hidden in these 2,970 pages is also a mandate that when you sell your house you will pay a 3.8% tax on the sales price that goes directly to the White House to help pay for Obamacare.

Would you like to know why the IRS is going to employ 16,000 new agents? These agents will be at the IRS to monitor you if you can afford a healthcare and don't purchase a plan you will be assessed a Tax? Penalty? Mandate?

Whatever you choose to call this newly formed penalty, you're still going to pay, and then you still must go out and purchase a healthcare plan. By the way the IRS has the authority to take the Tax? Penalty? Mandate? from your savings or checking account or even your tax return rebate.

A very prominent surgeon, who is also a registered Democrat, warned the American people to get ready for two-hour waits in the waiting room to see your Doctor for your scheduled appointment, and possible up to a year for scheduled surgery.

Of course it would be great to extend healthcare to all, but to pay for it through Mandate-Tax-Penalty from hard working people is not going to help the growth of our country, nor is it going to speed up the recovery of those receiving healthcare that have no jobs.

To be very truthful and factual there are twenty-two hidden taxes in the new Obamacare plan. We must be reminded that Obamacare could not be enacted into law on its own merits. It had to be hidden under a congressional tax to be passed.

Why is it never mentioned that a big help to affordable healthcare would be to initiate tort reform in healthcare lawsuits? Or why is it never mentioned that we can buy auto insurance across state lines, but not healthcare insurance? Think about it. Is this about getting Obama reelected by offering free healthcare on the backs of hard working Americans.

While not factual, a prediction has been made that 83% of Doctors may give up their practice if Obamacare continues, and 70% of Americans want Obamacare repealed.

To all those who are happy to see Obamacare enacted, well be careful what you wish for. For the rest of us, let's try to repeal Obamacare and Obama in November.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Why is it OK to...

Why is it OK for Valerie Jarret, Chief Adviser to President Obama, to remind us of Governor Romney's off-shore accounts, but she won't mention that she herself owns many off-shore accounts?

Why is it OK for DNC Chairperson Wasserman-Schultz to remind us of Governor Romney's off-shore accounts, but won't inform us that she has her own off-shore accounts?

At a recent rally of Latino voters, Vice President Biden spoke out that Governor Romney wants Latinos to show their papers, but will only release one set of tax returns. Really, Mr. Vice President? Why won't President Obama release ANYTHING to the American public about himself?

Other than the President's former status as a community organizer we don't know anything about his past; i.e., high school and college grades, papers he authored while in law review,
friends, girl friends from his past. He won't even show us his high school and college diplomas.

Is our President hiding something? Why are professionals still investigating his birth certificate?

Why is it OK for President Obama to campaign about Governor Romney's job out-sourcing, when our President spent billions of taxpayer's stimulus money on failed projects on products sent overseas, i.e., wind turbines, sports cars, G.E. products? And the media won't even honestly report it. President is the true Out-Sourcer in Chief, and that's a fact from the CBO.

Why did the President speak an untruth to us when he said, "if you like your healthcare plan you can keep it"? We now know that isn't the truth.

Just wondering why it's OK to speak of Governor Romney's wealth as if it was a disease, and accuse him of being out of touch with the American people, when our President has never even been in the business sector. Why is it OK?

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Attitude? - Values?

While campaigning in Parma, Ohio a few days ago President Obama declared that the middle class didn't mean so much economics, as much as it meant attitude and values.

So I went to Giant Eagle, shopped, and filled up my shopping cart. When I arrived at the check out counter the cashier rang everything up, and informed me I owed $103.85.  I informed her I didn't have any money, but I sure had a great attitude and lots of solid moral values. Everything in my shopping cart was returned to the store shelves.

My point is most of us Americans have solid moral Judeo-Christian values, and a strong attitude. However, take all your values and your good attitude to the local grocery store and see what that buys you.

My wife and I have six children and nine grandchildren, and are part of this so called "middle class", however at 77 years young if my Ohio Lotto numbers come through tonight I will be thrilled to jump from the middle class to the "one-percenters".

In fact, any of you middle class people who read this blog today that would NOT like to rise up from the middle class to the one percent please write me, and give me your attitude and valued reasons why you want to stay in the middle class.  Please.

Mr. President, the middle class is not an attitude or a set of values.  The middle class is defined as what is left in your check book after all your financial obligations are met every month.

The middle class is defined as struggling to find a way to pay for food and/or clothes for your growing children; find a way to pay for this September's college tuition.

Mr. President, do you think you can convince your close friend George Soros to "step" back from the one percenters to the middle class? What would've happened if Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, etc., would have been just satisified with middle class status?

Most people today, in the middle class, are afraid of their status in the middle class. They are worried about the economy, jobs, and the future of their children and grandchildren.

Mr. President, let me guarantee you that the middle class is an economic status, and all of us in the middle class would love to rise up to the one percenters. It is not just about attitudes and values.

And I'll close with hopes and prayers to our young children and grandchildren that they will always have the opportunities to rise up from the middle to the one percent.

By the way, Mr. President, I have a few friends in the one percent status, and they have great values, and a solid attitude towards this great country.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

United States? - Divided States?

Since the Revolutionary War many lives have been sacrificed so that the citizens of  this great country can embrace our freedoms, especially those in the First Amendment.

We are endowed by our Creator to enjoy our  freedoms to embrace, and the most effective way to do this is if we do it together. That means, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Catholic, Jews, Muslims, and even Atheists.

I am 77 years young, served in the military for four years, and have seen it all. No, I didn't see any combat, but I traveled throughout many European countries courtesy of the U.S. Air Force.

I met many people  that embraced many ideas. I lived in barracks with servicemen of different ideologies, religions, and "answers".  And yet there wasn't any violence or riots during these disagreements. We had a common goal: to serve our great country the best we could.

During my 77 years on this earth I have never seen so much overt division in our great country.
We seem to have lost sight of our common goal: to do the best we can to hand over a great country to our children and grandchildren.

Those that know me, and/or have read any of my blogs know that I lean to the right. I actually welcome a decent debate on political issues.

I belong to a golf league with thirty other seniors. Of these thirty only three of us are strong conservative Republicans. You can count on much teasing and joking every Wednesday morning when we meet for golf. When Obama won the election in '08 we three took a lot of good-natured teasing and ribbing; never any personal attacks.

Never was there a personal attack on anyone who disagreed with the three or the thirty.
When Obama's policies started to go bad for him there was more teasing to the thirty who voted for him. Many times I said, "how's that Hope & Change workin' for you?" His answer was, "still better than Bush". We both laughed at one another. Again, no personal attacks to one another.

Every Wednesday I drive to the golf league with a strong Democrat. We tease each other a lot.
However, I consider him a close friend and neither of us would ever make a personal attack remark to each other.  Disagreement and debating are parts of life.

What isn't a part of life are personal attacks on someone who disagrees with your political policies. I encourage everyone to speak out at the voting booth, and not openly with degrading personal attacks on one another.

Sure, it's safe to say that most of our media leans to the left, i.e., MSNBC, CNN, PBS, and many times even ABC, NBC, and CBS.  All I can say to that is "so what"?  I don't mind their bias towards the Obama administration. What I do object to is their personal attacks on anyone who disagrees with their philosophies.

Sarah Palin is not even in office any longer. Recently I was praising her for her role as a mother, grandmother, and wife. The person I was saying this to lashed out with a personal attack remark that I could not write here, and the remark could only be compared to something Bill Maher of HBO would say. When I asked "why say that"?, the person remarked,
"because she's a &*$# ".

Recently, I've had two aquaintances, that I previously called friends, removed from my facebook and e-mail address list. They crossed the line and began personal attacks on me, because I published my blog with a right-leaning slant.

I am honored to have a News-Herald sponsored blog, and promised them that I would never make personal attacks on anyone who disagrees with my conservative beliefs.

I'll close with again encouraging all who read this that it's OK to disagree, voice your own beliefs, but please we all have a common goal for this great country. As Americans let's never forget that.

It is definitely not necessary to make personal attacks on those who disagree with you.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Entitlement? - Deserve?

At 77 years young I receive a monthly Social Security check. I feel that I earned it, and I deserve it, much the same way an employee gets a paycheck every week.

Recently someone told me that my Social Security check is a "gift", and/or an "entitlement" from our government. Of course I disagreed.

Since I was a teenager a deduction was taken from my paycheck and sent to our government. Along with my different employers along the years, it amounted to 15% of my gross income every month sent to our government.

I was fortunate to maintain above average salaries in my over forty years of employment.  As a result I receive the maximum allowed by the Social Security Administration.

For purposes of explaining our Social Security checks let take a person who averages $30,000. per year for 49 years. Along with his employer(s) distribution a total of $4,500 a year would be sent to our government. That totals $220,500 for a 49 year working period.

Now let's take that $4,500. and calculate it at 5% growth for 49 years, which is, by the way, less than what our government pays on the money it borrows. After 49 years of working a person would have $892,919.98 in their Social Security account for distribution.

And, if you only took 3% out a person would receive $26,787.60 a year or approximately $2,300. per month. That money would last more than 30 years.

Here's something you may find interesting. How's your memory? Remember when former President Bush wanted to privatize Social Security and the Democrat controlled House & Senate shot it down?

Well, if a person making $30,000. a year would have taken the 15% that he/she and his employer put in their monthly fund, and put the money in a lowly 4% annuity the person averaging $30,000. yearly salary would have a LIFETIME income of $2,976.40 per month.

The entire Social Security Administration should occupy a cell next to Bernie Madoff.  This is a bigger Ponzi scheme than Madoff could have ever concocted.

Then the government committed the most horrible, unforgiven sin. After the American people were promised this pool of Social Security money would never be touched, they "borrowed" from this pool, and have never paid it back.

And they have the gall to profess that my monthly Social Security check is a "gift" or entitlement, or worse yet a handout or form of charity. That is MY money. I paid my hard earned cash for my monthly Social Security check.

Want to add insult to injury?  Most of the money that our government borrowed from our Social Security Administration went to billions of dollars to Haiti, Chile, Turkey, and now Pakistan. do we need to be reminded that Pakistan is the country that harbored bin Laden?

I would also like to question what does the government do with the money of an individual's account if the person dies before they retire, or dies within a year or two of their retirement.
Where does this money disappear to?

We keep getting reminded by our government that Social Security is getting close to being broke and there may not be enough to issue Social Security checks in the near future. But nothing is ever said that we may have to cut our billions of dollars in aid to foreign countries.

Wouldn't it be nice if our government gave the same support to its seniors, that paid into Social Security, that it does to our foreign aid?  Maybe it is time to privatize our monthly Social Security deductions.

Sorry for the lengthy blog, but don't tell me my monthly Social Security check is a gift from the government. I earned it.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Bain vs. China

There is so much controversy over the issue of Governor Romney's association with Bain Capital.  It really comes down on what side of the fence you're on. Or how you want to define your loyalty.

Some will argue that many companies like Staples were restored under Bain, and Governor Romney left Bain was it was very successful. Some argue that Governor Romney didn't care about the workers, and paid heavy dividends to investors and shut factories down.  The Obama campaign is full of TV commercials reminding you of these or lies.

As I wrote earlier: it depends on your own interpretation, and where you stand on the issue.

Just for the sake of a good old GOP vs. Democrat argument, let's say the Dems are are right.
My question is: What business is it of yours Obama?  This was all private sector money and investments. It's called capitalism. Not a cent belonged to the taxpayers of this great country.

Now, there's not enough room in this blog to list all the companies and investments that President Obama has invested in with taxpayers' money that have failed.  I could go on and list several of these endeavors that failed, but you know who they are.

This morning I saw the news where the President is traveling through Ohio and Pennsylvania campaigning to everyone that"the private sector is fine".

I became bemused because our Administration just granted several Chinese contractors the rights to repair several bridges across the USA. It's a large number of bridges, and I haven't verified the correct amount yet, but is well over one hundred. By the way, did I mention the actual workers on these bridges are from China?

Now, in the greater San Francisco area a brand new bridge is being constructed. Yeah, it's another contractor awarded to China, with workers also from China. I was just thinking Obama's buddy Reid represents Nevada, which is now suffering 13.7% unemployment. Maybe, just maybe Obama and Reid could've found a few bridge construction companies in the great state of Nevada to work on these bridges. Might reduce that Nevada unemployment a little.

I now know why Obama is not getting reelected in November. Right  now he's flying through Ohio and Pennsylvania campaigning that he's working hard to get Americans back to work.
He actually believes the people of Ohio and Pennsylvania are drinking his Kool-Aid. The folks did in '08, but you've awakened a sleeping giant.

But, let's give our President some credit. He created an enormous fourteen jobs in OUR White House, and raised the revenue status. We went from 454 employees to 468 in the White House, and their combined salaries went from $37.1 Million to $37.8 Million. What a great jump President.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

Mandate?-Tax?-Penalty?

I really don't care what you call it; mandate, tax, penalty, I still haven't found anyone, including Pelosi or Reid who have read the 2,970 pages called ObamaCare-Tax-Penalty.

Governor Romney calls it an "unconstitutional penalty". Well, that's OK.  He can call it that if he wants. There are many Democrats who are snickering behind our backs saying"we'll take it anyway we can get it"...ha-ha we fooled you".

Now, now after it's been enacted into law and passed successfully through the Supreme Court some facts have emerged that have started some burning fuel among Americans.

There is a fact that's in the form of a question I'd like to ask. If our new "affordable" health care is not in the form of a tax how come the IRS is going to start a hiring process of bringing  fifteen thousand agents on board to monitor those who will be mandated-penalized-taxed if they don't follow the dictates of the healthcare plan?  Just wondering.

Yes, it's nice that between 20 million and 30 million that didn't previously have healthcare will not have it. Just wondering though, whose going to pay for it? Is it going to come about through increased health premiums for those of us who do pay for our healthcare insurance?

A very prominent Doctor, who by the way, is a registered Democrat, openly stated that we should all be prepared to wait over two hours in the waiting room after we've waited many weeks, maybe months to see a Doctor.

This same Doctor further stated that with an influx of over 20 million people into our healthcare rolls where do the doctors come from? We already have a shortage,  and what is the waiting period for those who need a serious operation.

Another fact no one bothered to read is that starting in 2014 Medicaid will be cut by $500 Billion. Wonder whose going to take of these people on Medicaid. Hmmm, think it's increased taxes? Oops, sorry, I meant mandate....no I really meant penalty.  Whatever.

On a very personal note I have a grandson studying medicine at Duke. I just got off the phone with him, and he said..."well Gramps at least I'll have no trouble finding a job".

We honor you

During our Memorial Day weekend I took a break from my "Politics with Pete' blog and tried my best to write about all our American heroes  who gave the ultimate sacrifice for all the wars our great country has endured.

Today, I want to try my best to write about those that are still in foreign lands fighting for the freedoms we all share. Also, we all owe a deep debt of gratitude to those who have survived the wars, and have lived to pass on their stories to us. These stories have so many meanings.

I was honored to wear the U.S. Air Force uniform for four years. I never endured any combat duty, but never faltered in my honor to wear the uniform. I still feel guilty when asked, especially by a veteran who did endure war combat, "what did you do in the Air Force"?

I would sheepishly reply, "I played second base". I was fortunate to be in Special Services, enabling me to travel all through Europe, inside the iron curtain, for three of my four years of duty. But I always felt honored and like a proud military representative of our country when I dressed in my Air Force blues and performed my duties.

I have been fortunate to know friends that have endured combat duty, and have lived to tell their heroic stories. One of my heroes is actually a family member. His son is married to my daughter. A retired USMC friend I just call Major Jack.

Major Jack is a recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, along with many campaign ribbons. He is the main character in author Doyle Glass's book "Lions of Medina".
A movie is to be made of the book soon.

Last summer, at my daughter's home, over a bottle of single malt Scotch and mild cigars, I asked Major Jack to tell me the stories of his Silver and Bronze Stars.  What impressed me is he spoke more of those that were left behind and didn't make it back home. He rattled off their names as if he was reading from a sheet of paper. As we were sharing the Scotch and cigars he used the term "we" many more times than "I". Jack says he still gets phone calls from those that were under his command. Makes him a bigger hero to me.

Another friend of mine tell stories of his main duty in Viet Nam. He was the leader of the body bag patrol. His wife told me that many years after the Viet Nam war was over he would wake up screaming in the night, while sleeping, but when he was awake he would never speak of this duty.

There are times, when wearing my old Air Force baseball hat, I get stopped, and strangers, young and old, will utter, "thanks for your service". My only reply is "it was an honor to serve".

I am now 77, may be tested for MS this Fall, and have had my share of physical problems and operations, but yet I still feel humbled when I compare myself to these American heroes who have fought and survived the horrid combat duties they endured.

Sometimes we forget, as we check the thermostat for heat or cold fresh air, or decide what nice cooked meal we'll be eating, that there are those enduring combat with eighty pounds of gear on them, and hoping for a few hours sleep, a drink of water, and something decent to eat. Never forget that what we share we owe to these heroes.

I would like to ask anyone who reads this to never forget our war time heroes that still honor the uniform. When you see an old timer with an old military hat on, or a young service man/woman please thank them for their duty. Make them feel we will never forget them, and not just on the Fourth of July, but always.

And for those of you who can afford it joining the Wounded Warrior Project is very uplifting, and I guarantee it will make you feel like you're doing something.

Tomorrow I'll be back with Politics with Pete......today we honor you service heroes. We will never forget you

Part 3 - More Facts

In my last blog one of my critics had no basis to refute the CBO facts in my blog, so the critic acting in the familiar MSNBC fashion did  what the critic could only resort to; name calling. Let me advise the critic: I'm a nobody...don't waste your name calling on me.

The critic called me a "whitey". Well, we know what that makes the critic: A racist. That's what Al Sharpton, Chrissie Matthews, Basir, and Schultz do when anyone disagrees with them or President Obama; they call them a "whitey".

A note to the critic. Thank you for showing your hand by calling me a "whitey". At least I know who I'm dealing with now. By the way, it just makes me stronger with a strong will to continue.

So, here we go with more CBO facts folks. Here are more "records" established since Obama became the President of this great country and taken up residency in our White House:

1. First time in American history our debt sovereign has been downgraded.
2. Federal spending is now 25% of GDP; highest since WWII
3. Our Budget deficit, 10% of GDP, is the highest since WWII
4. U.S. Federal debt, 67% of GDP, is the highest since WWII
5. Only 58.1% of American population is working; lowest since 1983
6. Long-term unemployment, 45.9% of total population; highest since the 1930's.
7. Home ownership rate; 59.7%; lowest since 1965.
8. Only 49% of Americans paying income tax; lowest ever in modern times.
9. Highest percentage of Americans on Government dependency, receiving one ore more federal benefits, i.e., unemployment/food stamps/welfare; 47%.

These are pure CBO facts established since President Obama has been in office.  I can't wait for the critic who calls me "whitey" addresses these facts.

Keep reading folks. More facts to come, and they'll keep coming till November. Mabe tomorrow we'll write about all the companies your taxpayer dollars have paid for and have filed bankruptcy.

And that's Politics with Pete for today.

More facts -Part Three

There has been so much criticism about what President Obama has NOT  accomplished in his first three and a half years in our White House.

Really folks, we should focus on those areas that he has accomplished, and even set records at accomplishing.

First, and maybe foremost is that President Obama is the all time leader and record setter in food stamp distribution. During the Clinton years, food stamp distribution was 23 million. During the Bush years food stamp distribution was 23.5 million. Under President Obama in his first 3 years food stamp distribution is now at 39.5 million and rising.

In these dire economic times where so much oil dependency is focused on the Middle East there is another record President Obama has accomplished. Former President Clintons oil drilling permits were increased by 58%. During President Bush's two terms oil drilling permits increased by 116%. In President Obama's three and a half years oil drilling has DECREASED by 36%.  And these are CBO facts folks.

During former President Clinton's two terms the average unemployment was 5.21%.  During  former President Bush's two terms the average for unemployment was 5.27%.
In President Obama's first three and a half years the unemployment average is 9.36%, and rising. Again, just more CBO facts people.

Of course there are more facts to come, but just one more before I leave for today. Can you guess who are the three Presidents that had the most cabinet members with private sector experiences? Yep, you guessed it; Eisenhower, Reagan, and G.W. Bush. Now, can you guess the President who had the lowest number of cabinet members with private sector experience?
Yep, you guessed it; Obama. No wonder he told us last week, "the private sector is fine".

And that's Politics with Pete for today.....watch for tomorrow....more to come
